Pallet flow racking

Combining racking with conveyors streamlines the flow in your warehouse when you are handling a large amount of goods. Push back roller conveyors, gravity roller conveyors – we’ve got it all! The pallet is always ready for collection, but you need to know which method suits you best. Or you can ask us.

Live storage in the racking is ideal for palletised goods

Do you have a high turnover of palletised goods? If so, pallet racking with live storage may be the right choice. Pallet flow racks allow you to make full use of the space in your premises, as the number of forklift aisles is minimised. BLS offers gravity roller conveyors (FIFO) or push back pallet racking (FILO). Regardless of the method, you can rest assured that the right goods will always be at the front – ready for collection.

Do flow racks work everywhere?

The short answer is yes, if we are talking about indoor racking on a concrete floor. Here at BLS, we will help you to adapt the flow racking solution according to your needs. Live storage in racking is an excellent choice when you need to handle large volumes of the same type of goods. It is perfectly possible to use our flow racks in cold storage settings.

Did you know that you create more pallet spaces in the same area as traditional pallet racking? This is achieved, quite simply, by reducing the number of forklift aisles.

Common denominators for gravity roller conveyors and push back roller conveyors

Common to both storage methods are the possibilities they offer. Neither the size nor the weight of the goods is particularly important, as the racking is adapted to your wishes and storage needs. We tailor the solution according to the type of forklift being used at the collection point. BLS’s inclined pallet flow racking ensures that the goods are always in the collection position.

Gravity roller conveyors – perfect for date-marked goods

If your goods are date-marked and have a limited shelf life, gravity roller conveyor racking is preferable. Here, the pallets are stored in accordance with the FIFO principle (first in, first out). The pallets are loaded from one side and collected from the other. Transport between loading and unloading is performed safely using brake rollers that control the speed.

BLS knows everything there is to know about pallet flow racking, FIFO and FILO

Do you need to talk to someone who knows everything there is to know about live storage, gravity roller conveyors and push roller conveyors? We would like to extend a warm welcome to BLS. Push back system – ideal when you’re short on floor space

Push back roller conveyors are drive-in racking on rollers – ideal when you’re short on floor space. Here, the pallets are stored in accordance with the FILO principle (first in, last out). Unlike gravity roller conveyor racking, loading and unloading take place from the same side. This means that you only need one forklift aisle and that the racking can be placed against a wall. You can pick goods from any level you want and you can stack many pallets deep.

Frequently asked questions about pallet flow racking

Which pallet variants are suitable for BLS’s pallet flow racking?

Our system is customised and fits pallet variants of all kinds. It is important to ensure that the pallets are in good condition and not damaged. However, we do not recommend using disposable pallets.

What pallet weights can a FIFO/LIFO solution handle?

The load on the system can be adjusted as required, up to 1500 kg per pallet

Can I install FIFO/LIFO on asphalt?

The racking is only approved for concrete floors and we do not recommend installing on asphalt. The tracks are installed with approximately a 4% incline, and in order for the system to work properly, this incline must not be adjusted. Asphalt is not normally able to meet the load requirements and subsidence can easily occur.
